Users reflect Windows 7 patch to compromise system stability

Last week, Microsoft released a series of non-security fixes for Windows 7. The official comment on these patches is: "Specially designed to improve the stability and reliability of Windows 7/Server2008 R2." Unfortunately, the Microsoft TechNet website has had negative news: the patch codenamed KB977074 actually hurts the stability and reliability of the system.

After the user responds to install the patch, the system cannot be started normally or even shut down. Only when the power button is pressed can the system be shut down.

Some people complain that the prompt box pops up asking the user to verify Windows 7, because the original authentication information has been lost. The shutdown problem cannot be fixed in the media center, nor can the normal burning TV program function be performed.

It is reported that the original purpose of the patch is to solve the problems of keyboard failure, notification icon and screen saver. In contrast, some users have more serious problems after installation than the original intention.

Microsoft technical engineer Arthur Li pointed out that users who encounter difficulties need to upgrade the BIOS and hardware drivers, temporarily disable all anti-virus programs, and then install the patches in the initial state after restarting the system. There is currently no user feedback on the effectiveness of this method, and there is no proper, final solution for the official.

There is no such thing as another person on the TechNet website that the response program always stays at 67% and cannot be installed automatically. Arthur Li said that if the above operation does not solve the problem, advise the user to wait patiently for the second "Windows 7 Stability Patch" release.

Microsoft Windows 7 has been a global market since its release in October last year. It took only three months to seize 10% of the market share, far exceeding the historical Windows sales record. But Windows 7 is not perfect. Everything has both sides. We still need to keep close to the various failures that occur in Windows 7. Once the official final solution is provided, we will notify you in time.
