Windows 7 Application Tutorial: Search - Everywhere

Let's take a brief look at the search of WIN7. In the previous section of our start menu, we briefly mentioned the search. In fact, the search in WIN7 is highly integrated with the system, and you can see the "search" in every corner of Win7. Figure: Whether you open Explorer, your computer or even the control panel, you can see the search box at the top right of the window, while the searchable objects cover every aspect of everyday applications, including documents, images, applications, Windows help and even the web. Etc. This global search is very important for the user's daily operations.

In order to ensure the efficiency of the search, you need to establish the corresponding index first. I believe that friends who have used similar tools such as Live Desktop Search or Google Desktop Search have experienced the experience. With an index, Windows Search simply scans the index without having to actually search all the file names or file attributes on the hard drive, which is the basis for ensuring that the search results are quickly found.

Building an index or rebuilding an index is a fairly time consuming process that can take hours or even dozens of hours to complete. But all this is left to Win7 to complete.

Search Bar

Perhaps aware of the importance of search, Microsoft has set up search functions in many places in Win7. It can be said that the search is everywhere, as in the search bar in the upper right corner of the window as shown. All search bars have a dynamic search for the public, that is, when we enter a part of the keyword, the search has already begun. As the number of keywords entered increases, the results of the search are filtered repeatedly until we search for the content we need.

No matter what window, such as resource manager, control panel, even Win7 comes with many search programs If you need it, you can enter the keyword you want to search in the search box anytime, anywhere, and the system will display the content we need, just like the "Start Search" box in the "Start" menu. The search is dynamic and will gradually become more accurate as the number of keywords entered increases.
