Windows 8 operating system hardware configuration requirements

  
        Months, Microsoft released the Windows 8 Logo certified hardware requirements document, but one of the features of Secure Boot security boot is controversial, the open source community believes this will prevent Windows 8 users from choosing Linux. Thanks to this, Microsoft updated the Windows 8 hardware requirements document. Today the foreign media exposure of some of the key elements of this new hardware requirements document:

1, the minimum hardware configuration:

- Storage: After initial system installation requires 10GB of free hard disk space

— Firmware: UEFI

— Network: WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0 + LE (Low Consumption)

— Graphics System: Direct3D 10, WDDM 1.2 Driver

— Resolution: 1366x768

— Touch panel: At least 5 touches

— Camera: 720p

— Brightness sensor: 1-30k lux, dynamic range 5—60k

— Electronic compass

— Accelerator

— Gyro

— USB 2.0: At least one controller with an external interface

— Speaker

— Support for Near Field Communication (NFC)

2, Hardware Button:

— Power

— Windows K Ey

— Rotary lock

— Volume up

— Volume down

3, 2 seconds need to achieve standby recovery

Microsoft requires Intel Windows 8 PCs to require standby recovery in 2 seconds or less, but this is not required for Windows 8 ARM PCs.

4, for touch screen devices, "CTRL + ALT + DEL" button combination function is replaced by "Windows Key + power button"
