Where is the win7 environment variable? Win7 environment variable setting tutorial

Many times, whether we are under XP or under Vista, Win7, Win8, whether we are programmers or ordinary users, we may use the Windows system environment variable. While running applications on a computer, we often need to modify the system environment variables. The most typical example is that we need to configure the system environment variables when installing JAVA. So where is the win7 environment variable? Let's discuss how to configure it today. Environment variables!

What is an environmental variable?

Environment variables generally refer to some parameters used in the operating system to specify the operating system operating environment, such as temporary folder location and system folder location. This is similar to the default path of the DOS period. When you run some programs, in addition to looking in the current folder, you will find it in the default path set. Simply put, "Path" is a variable that stores the directory path where some common commands are stored.

So how do you change the environment variables?

Click “My Computer”, select Properties.

Find and open “Advanced System Configuration”. In the next page, click “Advanced System Configuration” to open the “System Properties” window.

Find the "environment variable" button and click.

Environment Variables window. There are generally two variables in the environment variable window, one is the user-specific environment variable that you are currently using, and the other is a system variable that all users can access. In fact, if you only use one user on your computer, the effect will be the same regardless of the user's environment variable or system variable. In order to prevent other users from being created in the future, I suggest you modify the system variables instead of a user-specific environment variable.

Locate the variable path in the system variable display box, select it and click Edit to modify it. The path variable tells the system that when the system is required to run a program without telling the full path of the program, the system should look for the program in the current directory instead of the directory specified by the path variable. Generally, when we modify the environment variable, if we do not specify a specific variable, such as JAVA_HOME, the environment variable we refer to is path.

After the modification is complete, you must remember to click “OK” to save the modified content. Remember to separate each path between another path and another path. The buttons in the three windows need to click “OK” to save the modified content.

How to modify? If you feel that it is not easy to modify the window of the editing system variable, you can also copy the contents of the path to the text document to find and modify, and then paste it back.

Notes

The steps to modify environment variables are simple, but remember to separate the two paths with a semicolon, and click "&#" to confirm ”.

The above is the win7 environment variable setting tutorial, I hope to be helpful to everyone!
