Facebook Announces React Native Support for Universal Windows Platform

  

Computer Store News: At Facebook's annual developer conference, Facebook announced today that it is adding support for the Universal Windows platform on React Native. React Native is an open source framework for Facebook that allows developers to build native apps using JavaScript and React. According to Microsoft, React Native is the fastest growing open source project in 2015, with more than 30,000 stars on GitHub.

Facebook shows the official F8 app on F8, created on React Native and runs on Windows 10: In addition to supporting the Universal Windows platform, developers can now bring React Native apps to more devices, including Windows 10 PC, mobile phone, HoloLens, surface Hub, and even Xbox One. In addition to the new UWP support, Microsoft also announced a new Visual Studio code extension that will allow developers to create and debug React Native applications. According to Microsoft, this is just the beginning, and Microsoft is planning to share more updates in the near future.
