Microsoft Office 365 is still the most popular corporate office application

We found that Okta customers are huge in various industries, and our survey involves two cloud giants, Office 365 and Google Apps. According to our survey data, more than 40% of companies use Google Apps and Office 365. This is because different departments prefer different applications and may facilitate online collaboration. Thirty percent of them use Office 365 licensed desktop products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), while Google Apps is only used for everyday email and collaboration. As one respondent said, “the easiest way for us is to license Office and keep software updates through Office 365.

In addition, traditional industries prefer to use Office 365 and Google Office applications. The financial, biotech and construction industries are heavily dependent on Office 365, while the Internet and marketing industries are more inclined to Google office applications. Another good news is that in the second half of 2015, Microsoft Azure was the fourth fastest growing application in the market.
