New feature: Win10 will support multiple instances of the same application running

Computer Store News: Microsoft recently released Windows 10 Build 10130. The latest Windows 10 Build includes many new features that Microsoft has introduced in the blog. However, Build 10130 has a new feature —— now in Windows 10, you can open multiple instances of the calculator app.

In Build 10130, users can open the Calculator app multiple times and add multiple Calculators to run tasks in the taskbar. Currently, only the "Calculator" application supports opening multiple instances, but some Microsoft sources said that there will be more applications that support this feature, and not limited to official applications, third-party applications will eventually add this feature.

In addition, Microsoft is considering creating an API that enables Modern applications to generate new windows and deep chains that link other Modern applications.

An application that runs multiple instances can also be restricted by developers. Because service providers such as Spotify definitely want their applications to be limited to an instance scenario, this feature is controllable because multiple instances will violate their terms of use.

Foreign media Neowin said that the above functions will not cover all applications very quickly, because different application branches have different functional characteristics, but the function is about to be on the Windows 10 platform.

It is said that Microsoft plans to provide this feature for other Windows applications (Metro applications). The site also pointed out that developers will be able to use the API to allow users to run multiple instances of an application, although they can also disable this feature.
