Win10 technology preview version of the first entry essential tips

Computer Store News: At present, Win10 is still in the technical preview stage, and there are still several months to complete according to the final version (RTM version). However, the latest version of the technology preview has brought a lot of new features, and every day there will be a large number of users joining the Windows Insider beta plan to get a look at Windows10. Therefore, we feel it is necessary to share some of the things that beginner users should know or need to pay attention to:

1. Turn off synchronization

Users only need to use Microsoft account to register Windows Insider. Get the latest beta versions from the Microsoft related page, including the beta app store and feedback app. Microsoft can also learn about the specific situation of users using Win10, and then repair and improve the system accordingly.

However, most users will use the same Microsoft account on all Windows systems. Log in to the system using a Microsoft account and the system will synchronize the user's previous settings to the Win10 system. However, this may cause some problems. If you just want to test Win10 briefly, you probably don't need to sync your previous settings to the new system. Then, it's best to turn off the system's sync option.

2, speed up the preview version update speed

In the Win10 preview version, two new versions are updated: fast channel and slow channel; slow channel is used to push users A stable version, the fast channel is used to push newer versions to users who are eager to experience the latest features, which means that the version pushed in the fast channel will contain many bugs.

The system defaults to “slow channel", if you are eager to experience the latest version, please change the settings yourself.

It should be noted that the version that Microsoft pushes through the fast channel and the version that is pushed through the slow channel, the same version number is actually the same code, Microsoft will launch the version at the same time as the slow channel push version. The fix, the user needs to get these updates after installing the system.

3, open Cortana

Cortana is a private digital assistant launched by Microsoft, originally introduced in WP8.1, has now been added to Win10.

If you did not open Cortana after installation, click on the search box in the taskbar and click "Allow” to open Cortana. When you use it for the first time, you will be asked to enter the name Cortana calls you.

After the setup is complete, when you try to say "Hey COrtana" to Cortana, you will find that it doesn't work. This is because, in view of privacy issues, this feature is turned off by default. You can open the Cortana setup options by clicking the button in the top left corner. Scroll to the bottom and find the <Let Cortana respond when you say‘Hey Cortana’“options to open it.

After opening, you can try to say "Hey Cortana to Cortana, please help me check the recent weather".

Since the Win10 preview version of Build10041, Cortana has been opened in China, UK, France, Germany and Italy.

In addition, you should probably try Microsoft's latest touch-based Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications. These apps are part of the future Office 2016.

The touch version of the Office app is a universal app that shares the same code as the mobile and tablet versions. However, Microsoft has not yet released an optimized version for mobile phones and tablets.

In addition, there are new music and video applications. Again, these two apps are not built into the Win10 preview, you can get it here:
