Win10 Preview Edition 9901 is now natively supported by FLAC Audio

Computer Store News: Some time ago there was news that Windows 10 would natively support Flac lossless audio formats. Now, this new feature is finally found in Windows 10 Build 9901. This is system level support, so any Win32 or Modern application can take advantage of this system's native functionality. Windows 10 also provides native support for the MKV format.

We already knew that the Windows 10 system will support the FLAC audio format, and Microsoft executives have also exposed relevant screenshots. Now the latest Windows 10 Build 9901 finally provides native support for FLAC format files, so this is not surprising.

FLAC is short for 'Free Lossless Audio Codec', which compresses a music file to 50% of its original volume; 60%, when decompressed again, the file Will return to the initial state. It's worth noting that this is system-level support, so any Win32 or Modern application can take advantage of this system's native functionality.

Of course, FLAC is not the only new encoder to enter Windows 10, and Neowin has previously confirmed that Windows 10 will also provide native support for the MKV format. The Win10 native support for this format indicates that this is system level support, so any related Win32 and Modern applications will also support this format.
