Running Linux on Win8 PC is not a dream

Microsoft released the Win8 system at the end of October. Due to security issues, Microsoft designed UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) for Win8 hardware devices, which also caused the Linux system to fall into the trap. In a dilemma, I had to look for compatibility with Win8 hardware devices. Some time ago, the Linux Foundation announced that it had found a solution that would allow all Linux systems to be successfully installed and run on Win8 PCs.

The Linux Foundation says: "Get a Microsoft Key" and sign a small pre-bootloader that can be chained (without any form of signature) Check the scheduled boot loader to start Linux (or any other operating system) ".

However, it seems that this solution is temporarily stranded. Linux kernel maintainer James Bottomley said in an interview: "Our work on this side has been basically completed, and the work that needs to be done is with Microsoft. Signing the contract and preparing for the final release, "but it is not going well to apply for certification at the Microsoft System Development Center." In the end, Bottomley said helplessly, "I am not sure how long it will take to work with Microsoft, but I hope it will take only a few days."
