IE on Win8 is 18% more energy efficient than other browsers

Computer store news: Microsoft today announced a PDF document, claiming that in the Windows 8 operating system, if you give up Chrome and Firefox, switch to IE 10 browser, the energy saved can be used by 10,000 families in the United States. Why is this so? Microsoft explained that during development, Microsoft concentrated on making IE faster, and IE could better utilize modern PC hardware (such as local graphics cards) to increase rendering speed.

When using a browser, you may pay little attention to it. How much energy, however, considering that we spend a lot of time on the laptop browser, more than other programs, saving 18% of energy (Microsoft said) makes sense. Overall, everyone can save 120 million kWh of electricity with IE, and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions is equivalent to planting 2.2 million trees. In 2011, Microsoft also published a report claiming that IE 9 is better than Chorme, Firefox, and Safari. This time, Microsoft said IE is the most energy-efficient browser on Win8. Microsoft can use a report to convince users to switch to IE, I am afraid it is very difficult.
