PC industry crisis collapsed

Computer store news: Foreign media published an analysis article on Thursday said that Microsoft's financial report released today shows that the company is still squatting. Unless the new product can be adopted by users at a faster rate, the PC industry crisis will trip over Microsoft.

The software giant released its second-quarter earnings report at the end of December on Thursday. Microsoft said that in consideration of deferred revenue factors, sales of its two flagship products, Windows and Office, increased by 13% and 3% respectively over the same period last year. This is still the result of the decline in the PC market. According to market research firm IDC, global PC shipments fell by 6% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of last year.

Although there are still some PC users still using Windows operating systems that are not supported, Microsoft is still able to resist the PC industry slightly. Microsoft said that 60% of users have already upgraded to the win7 operating system, so this upgrade should be slowed in the near future.

When this moment comes, Windows 8 that supports touch screens must not be taken lightly. From Microsoft's latest earnings report, it is still not clear whether Win8 can become popular.

If the sales data of the Microsoft Surface tablet in the previous quarter was very good, Microsoft should disclose the sales of the product. However, Microsoft did not disclose the sales data of Surface. The new Surface, which is compatible with more applications, is expected to be available until February next year.

At the same time, Microsoft's often neglected but always profitable "servers and tools" business performance is not as good as the market expects. The division, which sells servers and other enterprise software, earns about a quarter of Microsoft's total revenue and operating profit. Considering the release of the new server software, the department's performance in the previous quarter should be even better.

More importantly, Microsoft seems to have a long way to go to gain meaningful market share in the smartphone market. Coupled with the traction of other new products, this should ease concerns about the company's prospects.
