Market share increased by less than 1% in December last year

Computer store news: According to foreign media reports, Net Marketshare, a website that monitors the operating system used by network users, released a report on Wednesday that the market share of Windows 8 operating system increased by only 0.7% in December last year. With the technology of the holiday shopping season, everyone wants to know about the sales of Windows 8.

Although some consumers bought new Win8 computers during the holiday shopping season this year, it is clear that the Win8
operating system has not caused a huge sensation in the market. And this operating system has not shocked the world.

Net Marketshare statistics show that in December last year, sales of new Windows 8 devices were only slightly stronger than new Windows 7 devices. Net Marketshare said that in November last year, Windows 7's share of the PC market reached 44.71%, and Windows 8 (including tablet RT operating system Windows RT) had a market share of 1.11%. In December last year, the market share of Windows 7 rose to 45.11%, and Windows 8 (including Windows RT) rose to 1.77%. This means that Windows 8's market share has increased by 0.7%; Windows 7's share has increased by 0.4%.

From now on, the popularity of Windows 8 is somewhat similar to Vista, a relatively unsuccessful operating system released by Microsoft in 2007. Gregg Keizer, editor of the technology website Computerworld, pointed out that in the two months of the market, Vista accounted for about 2.2% of all Windows operating systems.

Microsoft has previously said that Windows 8 is still in its infancy, so it is too early to prove that the product is successful with just two months of data. When asked Microsoft to comment on Net Marketshare's statistics, the company once again said that Windows 8's early sales data is stronger than Windows 7, so there is still reason to be optimistic about Windows 8.
