AD account password modification function through IIS in Windows Server 2012 R2

  
        

Nowadays, more and more enterprises will classify AD accounts. For example, if the business account and service account are managed separately from the employee account, then such accounts will also choose whether to enable the mailbox function because of the specific type of business application, or Some enterprises will use Tencent Enterprise E-mail or Netease E-mail, etc. These platforms are independent of the AD domain, and many enterprises use the MAC system or the computer does not add a domain at all. In this case, the enterprise intranet needs to build OA, WIKI, JIRA. When some systems that need to call LDAP in AD to log in to the employee, the user has no problem to change the password after the password expires. So today I am going to introduce you how to use the Remote Desktop Service in Windows Server 2012 R2 to implement password modification to solve the problems encountered in these scenarios.

1. Install Remote Desktop Service and IIS Service Role

1. Click the “Server Manager” icon in the taskbar as shown below.



2. In the "Server Manager" window that opens, click "“Manage" "&" Add Roles and Features> Figure:



3. In the page shown below, click the “Next” button.



4. In the page shown below, select “role-based or feature-based installation”.


5. In the page shown below, check the “Web Services (IIS)” and “Remote Desktop Services” item, click “Next” & rdquo; Button.


6. In the page shown below, click the “Next” button.



7. In the page shown below, click the “Next” button.



8. In the page shown below, click the “Next” button.



9. In the page shown below, click the “Next” button.



10. In the page shown below, check “Remote Desktop Web Access” and click the “Next” button.



11. On the page shown below, click the “Install” button.



Second, configure IIS to enable password modification function

1. In the page shown below, click “Application Settings” item.



2. Double-click the “PasswordChangeEnabled” item as shown below.



3. In the pop-up "Edit Application Settings" item, the setting value is changed from “False” to “True”, the modification is completed. After that, click the “OK” button.



Third, the test password modification page

1, then access the password modification page, at this time, you can see that it can be opened normally It is.



2. Next, we perform the password modification test. After entering the username and password, click the “Submit” button, as shown below:

Note: The words “Password Modification Platform” in the page shown below can be modified according to the name of the enterprise platform. You can modify the related display fields in IIS. It is relatively simple and will not be explained here.



3. In the page shown below, you can see that the password has been successfully modified.
