Ingenious backup to solve the problem of reinstalling Vista dual system follow-up

After you have worked on a dual system, be sure to back it up. In order to reload and restore in the future. The operation is as follows:

1. Back up the boot file (the file is located in the directory where the current boot program is located), such as the C drive at this time:

Windows vista system boot file, Boot (folder) ), autoexec.bat, bootmgr.sys, config.sys, BOOTSECT.BAK; Windows XP system boot files boot.ini, bootfont.bin, IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS, NTDETECT.COM, ntldr.sys;

2. Back up BCD files

Open “Run> (Start > Run), type cmd

Enter bcdedit /export “X:\\XXX\\bcd”

The recovery steps are as follows (assuming XP is on the disk, Vista is on the D drive, XP is reinstalled):

Restoring the boot file: Just copy the Vista boot file (clip) to the C drive. >

Resume Vista startup: bootsect /nt60 SYS

Complex BCD file

Open “Run> (Start > Run), type cmd

Enter bcdedit /Import “X:\\XXX\\bcd”

If you reinstall XP, restore Vista startup files, then use bootsect to restore Vista boot manager, then bcdedit restore startup items;

Vista, Xp startup files to restore, just use bcdedit to restore the startup items on it. The key here is to use bcdedit to back up the startup items when the dual system is normal.
