Six "Briefcase" application skills in Windows XP system

"Briefcase" is a file synchronization tool that comes with Windows. The earliest designed function is to synchronize the corresponding folder between the host and other computer computers. Windows XP "Briefcase" can display whether a file is linked to the host computer. The original file, or whether a file is an "orphaned file." Let's take a look at the six tips of the "Briefcase" in the Windows XP operating system. First, create a new "Briefcase"
So how to create a briefcase in Windows XP? The method is very simple, as follows: 1, open "My Computer", double-click the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. 2. Click the folder in which you want to create a new Briefcase. 3. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Briefcase. 4. If you want to create a new "Briefcase" on your desktop, right-click anywhere on the desktop, click New, and then click Briefcase. Second, use "Briefcase" to synchronize the files stored on the removable disk
1. Insert the removable disk into the disk drive of the host computer. 2. Open "Briefcase" and copy the corresponding file into the briefcase. 3. Drag the “Briefcase” to the disk, at which point the files in “Briefcase” are copied to disk. 4. Remove the disk from the host computer and insert it into the disk drive of your laptop. 5. Open "Briefcase" from the disk and process the files in it. When preparing to sync files, remove the disk from the laptop and reinsert it into the disk drive on the host computer. 6. Open Briefcase from the disk and perform one of the following steps: A: To update all files, on the Briefcase menu, click Update All. B: To update only some files, select the files to update, and then click Update Selected on the Briefcase menu. Third, choose to use "briefcase" or "offline files"
Windowss XP provides tools that can handle files stored on the host computer or network. You can choose the right tool for your needs: 1. If you use a direct cable connection or a removable disk to transfer files frequently between computers, a briefcase is the best tool. Use Briefcase to synchronize files modified on other computers with files on the primary computer. You can organize your files by creating multiple briefcases. 2. If you want to use shared files on the network, "offline files" is the best tool. Use Offline Files to make changes to shared files when the network is down, and then sync them the next time you connect to the network. 4. Using "Briefcase" to synchronize files connected to your computer
Windows XP, like previous versions of Windows, can use Briefcase to synchronize files on your computer. 1. When your computer is connected, open "Briefcase" on your laptop and copy the required files from the host computer. 2. Process files on a laptop. 3. After processing the file, connect two computers (if they are disconnected), open "Briefcase" on the laptop, and then complete one of the following steps: A: To update all files, in "Briefcase" On the menu, click "Update All." B: To update only some files, select the files to update, and then click Update Selected on the Briefcase menu. It should be noted here that when you use "Briefcase" to copy files from the host computer to the laptop, you must connect the two computers via a network or direct cable connection; you do not need to connect two computers when processing files. 5. Separate files stored in "Briefcase" from files corresponding to "Briefcase"
1. Open "Briefcase" and click the file to be split. 2. On the “Briefcase” menu, click “Out of Original File”. When the file stored in "Briefcase" is separated from the file corresponding to "Briefcase", the file will be marked as orphaned and will no longer be synchronized. 6. Check the status of the files in the "Briefcase"
Sometimes we need to check the status of the files in the briefcase in order to use the briefcase reasonably. 1. Open "Briefcase" and click on the file you want to check. 2. On the File menu, click Properties. 3. Click the Update Status tab. Here are two things to note: 1. To find a copy of a file other than "Briefcase" (corresponding to the copy stored in "Briefcase"), on the "Update Status" tab, click "Find Original File". 2. If you want to view the status of the file stored in the Briefcase, and the status bar does not appear in the right pane of the Briefcase window, on the View menu, click Details.
