First, compressed file

Direct compression method: Select the desired compressed file, then right click and select " Send to the →zip (zippde) folder (Figure 1).

Indirect compression method: Right click on the blank space of the desktop or file window, select "New → Compress (zippde) folder", then give the compressed package a good name, and finally the file to be compressed. Or drag and drop the folder into the zip file.

Tip: Don't underestimate the compression function of Windows XP! After the author verified, for the compression ratio of the same file, Windows XP is in no way inferior to professional compression software such as WinRAR.

Second, extract the file

Decompress all files: Select the compression package, right-click and select "Extract All (A)..." pop-up extraction wizard (Figure 2) Click Next, select Extract File to store the folder, and finally click "Next" to complete the extraction.

Unzip some files: Double-click to open the archive, then drag and drop the required files directly into other folders to complete the decompression; it is worth mentioning that in Windows XP, you You can directly cut and copy files in the archive.

Decompression with other software: When a compressed file package compressed with Windows XP is moved to a non-XP computer, the file icon will become the corresponding icon of the default compression software in the system, and WinRAR can also be used. , WinZip and other compression software to extract!

Third, set the password

You can also use the Windows XP compressed file to encrypt and compress, as follows: Double-click to open the compressed package, and then select "File → Add Password" A dialog box appears. Enter the password and click "OK". Wait a moment to complete the encryption. The next time you unzip or open the file in the archive, a prompt will appear asking you to enter your password. Even if you use other compression software to decompress, you will be asked to enter a password, which fully guarantees the security of the file.
