Windwos XP system restore function does solve a lot of problems for us, but sometimes it will encounter the phenomenon of "failure" of the restore function. The system restore point that was created before the author installed the game disappeared, and only one system checkpoint was replaced. How is this going? How do we restore the original system restore point? After the restore point is lost, start "Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Event Viewer", select "System" in the event viewer, find the lost restore Point to the information file, view the properties to see: System Restore service is suspended, because there is not enough disk space on the drive C: \\, once there is at least 200MB free disk space on the system drive, System Restore will automatically resume the service. (As shown below) Understand the reason for the loss of the restore point, then it should be restored. The first step is to find a folder named System Volume Information in the root directory of the Windows XP system. The Chinese name can be translated into "system volume information". This folder stores the backup information of the system restore. In the second step, we managed to back up System Volume Information. The easiest way to back up is to copy a copy directly, but considering the maintainability of the backup file, you should use the necessary compression. In the third step, if the system uses NTFS partition, we will get a warning if we click the System Volume Information folder directly. Because the System Volume Information folder is only accessible to the system by default, even if you are logged in as a member of the Administrators group. To access this folder, you must further set up the folder: right-click on the System Volume Information folder, select "Properties" from the pop-up menu, then select "Security" in the option card, then select "Add" to add visitors to the folder: Administrators and give full control. (As shown in the figure below. What users can add here according to the user name you log in, the user name used by the author belongs to the Administrators group, so the Administrators group is added.) After setting this, click the System Volume Information folder and select WinZIP or WinRAR can compress it. After the compression is complete, copy the compressed file to a safe place. After that, whether it is because the disk space is not enough to use the system to turn off the system restore function or we manually turn off the system restore function, as long as we re-open the system restore function, then manually delete all the folders and files in the System Volume Information folder (re-open System restore function (the file corresponding to the restore point established by the system itself), then extract the backup compressed file to the System Volume Information folder, and then start the system restore, we can see the restore point we need.
