Window xp teaches you how to clean up system junk files

        1. Temporary files generated during software installation
Many software installations must first extract their own installation files to a temporary directory (usually the Temp directory under the Windows folder), such as WinZip and other tools, and then Install again. If the software design is negligent or there is a problem with the system, when the installation is finished, these temporary files will become "temporary" and become a pile of garbage on the hard disk. Many times they appear as *.tmp faces, as shown in Figure 1. . During the running of the software, some temporary swap files are usually generated, such as backup files such as *.old and *.bak generated by some programs, anti-virus software or backup files generated by the system software when checking the hard disk. As shown in Figure 2. Some application software comes with help or tutorial files (usually suffixed with .hlp, etc.), extra font files in the operating system, and so on. A large number of font files are not only physically strong, but also take up a lot of space, which can seriously drag down the speed of the system and some graphics processing software. In addition, the System Restore folder also takes up a lot of disk space. 2. Legacy files after software uninstallation
Since most of Windows software uses dynamic link libraries (DLLs), some software designs are not mature enough, resulting in many software being uninstalled, often left in the hard disk. Some folders, *.dll files, *.hlp files and registry keys, as well as small and unknown small things, become veritable garbage, as shown in Figure 3. 3. Temporary files generated by surfing the Internet When the Internet is downloaded, the browser downloads some web files to the local machine, which not only takes up valuable disk space, but also makes personal privacy public. In addition, there will be a history of historical waste, temporary cache files, CookIE and other basic useless "waste", as shown in Figure 4. How to delete junk files 1. Delete temporary files generated by the system Windows garbage generated during installation and use includes temporary files (such as *.tmp, *._mp, etc.) and temporary backup files (such as *.bak, *.old, *.syd, etc.), temporary help files (*.gid), disk check data files (*.chk), and other temporary files such as *.dir, *.dmp, *.nch. You can use the "find" function of the system to find out the "junk" from the hard disk. To delete all these files, right click and select Delete, as shown in Figure 5. The two temporary folders "C:\\Temp" and "C:\\Windows\\Temp" are also "garbage" breeding places, which are temporary files stored in the file, which can be safely deleted. 2. Delete files that are not commonly used In the "Control Panel", go to the "Add/Remove Programs" window and delete the program components that are not needed in the "Add or Remove Windows Components" option, as shown in Figure 6. Some program files in the system can also be deleted. For example, in the "C:\\WINNT\\driver cache\\i386" directory of Windows 2000, there is a compressed file named "driver.cab" with a size of about 50 megabytes. This is A hardware device driver package built into the system. A file named "user.dmp" can make the computer often go wrong and use less, or you can delete it. The deletion of these infrequently used files is the same as in the previous paragraph. 3. Delete the "System Restore" folder
Windows Me/XP "System Restore" improves the security of the system, but as the software is continuously installed and the "restore point" is created, it restores the backup folder (_Restor) Will get bigger and bigger, wasting a lot of hard disk space.
