Selecting a desktop theme

The desktop theme is used to define the desktop style of the operating system and is a direct manifestation of computer personalization. Right-click on the desktop and select the "Properties" menu item to enter the "Display Properties" dialog box, then enter the "Theme" column. There is a drop-down menu in the "Theme" item, you can see the two "Windows XP" and "Windows Classic" theme styles, "Windows XP" style is the desktop you see when you run Windows XP for the first time. Style; and "Windows Classic" is the desktop style of the Windows 98 operating system we are used to. Selecting a desktop background

Setting the desktop icon

As a part of the desktop, icons can be used as an embellishment, but sometimes too many icons or too ugly will affect The beauty of the desktop. How can I manage these icons? Don't worry, Windows XP provides powerful icon management capabilities. Click on "Customize Desktop" in the "Display Properties/Desktop" tab and you will be taken to the "Desktop Project" (Figure 2). Here you will find out why the first time you enter Windows XP, only the desktop "Recycle Bin" is "one person". It turns out that the common items in the desktop icon - "My Documents", "My Network Places", "My Computer" and "Internet Explore" are not checked. If you think the icons look too ugly, you can choose other icon patterns in the "Change Icon".


Clean the desktop icon

If you want to clean up regularly, first check the "Run desktop cleanup wizard every 60 days", then click "Clean the desktop now" to enter the "Desktop Cleanup Wizard" (Figure 3), click "Next", then clear the shortcut In the checkbox in front of the shortcut you want to clear, click "Next" to "Complete". However, there will be an "Unused Desktop Shortcuts" folder on your desktop. If you feel uncomfortable, you can delete it. You can also right click on the folder and select "Properties" in "Properties". Check "Hide" in the item, then open "Folder Options" in the "Control Panel", select "Do not show hidden files and folders" in the "View" tab, and then look at the desktop, "Not used The desktop shortcut" is gone. Select "Show all files and folders" in "Folder Options" and you will see it again. If so, you don't think it's too addictive, let all the icons disappear together! Right-click on the desktop and tick "Arrange icons to display desktop icons" (Figure 4). When you look at it later, the desktop will only have background images left :). However, it is always a bit too "not too late".

Queue the desktop icons

If you want your desktop to look more organized, you can organize them according to certain rules to make them more tidy. Right-click on the desktop and you can see the four alignment rules in the Arrange Icons: Name, Size, Type, and Modification Time. These four icons are arranged to give you different information. For example, according to the modification time, you can know the time sequence of each program installation; according to the size, you can know which icon itself accounts for a large memory, and so on.
