Unlock Windows XP restore point mysterious missing fans

Windows XP "system restore" feature for those who often need to install and uninstall software. But computer technology
is not a very proficient friend, it is a gospel, because they no longer have to install Windows XP operating system repeatedly because of system failure. But I also heard some friends say that his home Windows XP restore function seems to be a problem, the restore points are sometimes lost, so that they can not be restored to a restore point. In fact, the loss of the restore point and the Windows XP operating system itself does not have much relationship, more is our operation errors or neglect. So let us analyze the main reasons restore point loss:

1. Close the System Restore feature

Some people may mistakenly believe that as long as I have some time to create a restore point, Then I can turn off the system restore function, so you don't have to create a restore point to save hard disk space. However, if we manually turn off the system restore function of Windows XP, all the restore points you created before will be deleted, so you will not find any restore points. If you want to use System Restore, you can't turn it off.

2. partition space is insufficient

a lot of friends when you install the software, always with the default installation path, which tends to make the system partition is taking up much of the space. Because of this, Windows XP's system restore function will stop working and stop monitoring the system. At this time, all restore points will be deleted to release the partition space, and no restore points will be found. Even if the partition space is not enough, the "Restore" function will stop, but some previous restore points will be deleted to free up the space, and we will find that some restore points are not found. Therefore, when installing the software, do not always install according to the default path, to ensure that the system partition has enough hard disk space for the restore function. When we receive a warning that there is not enough disk space, we are ready to release the partition space.

3. Use the "Disk Cleanup" program carefully

When we use Windows XP's "Disk Cleanup" program to clean up the useless data of the hard disk, be careful not to use the "Other Options" tab. Under the "System Restore" "clean up" function. If you use this feature, all restore points will be deleted.
