How to create a self-extracting file in Windows XP

  



To create a self-extracting compressed file in Windows XP, follow these steps:

(1) Select The "Start → Run" command, enter the "iexpress" command in the pop-up "Run" dialog box, open the "IExpress Wizard" interface.

(2) Click the "Create new Self Extraction Directive file" option and click the "Next" button.

(3) Then click the “Extract files only” option and click the “Next” button.

(4) Enter the zip package title in the “Package title” interface, click “No prompt” and “Do not display a license” in the two interfaces that appear next, click “ Next step button.

(5) Click the "Add" button in the "Packaged files" interface to add the original file. The default settings are available in the next two interfaces.

(6) When entering the “Compressed Package Storage” interface, click the “Browse” button to create the address and name of the compressed package, and select the “Store files using Long File Name inside Package” check box. Click the "Next" button to create a success.
