Description of insufficient disk space notification in XP

  
                  Summary
When a Windows XP-based computer is running with less disk space, you click the Disk Cleanup Wizard and when it starts, you receive a "Low Disk Space" message. This article describes how you will see the "Low Disk Space" message.

When free disk space reaches 200 megabytes (MB), you receive the following message (displayed for 10 seconds, once per session):
You are running out of Disk space on [drive].To free space on this drive by deleting old or unnecessary files, click here.
When the available disk space reaches 80 MB, you will receive the following message (every 4 hours, display 30 seconds, each session appears twice):
You are running very low on disk space on [drive].To free space on this drive by deleting old or unnecessary files, click here.
When available disk space When you reach 50 MB, you receive the following message (every 5 minutes, 30 seconds until the available disk space is greater than 50 MB): You are running very low on disk space on [drive].To free space on this drive By deleting old or unnecessary files, click here.
Note: You can set a registry value to disable this feature. To disable the out of disk space check, follow these steps to log out and log in again: Follow these steps, then exit the Registry Editor:
  1. Click Start, click Run , type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then click the following registry key in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\Explorer
  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value ".
  4. Type NoLowDiskSpaceChecks and press Enter.
  5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
  6. Type 1 and click OK.
