Diskpart tool to divide extended partition graphic tutorial

During the process of partitioning the hard disk partition and installing the system, we learned that the MBR partition table supports only 4 primary partitions at most. In some cases, it needs to divide more partitions, so it will involve using the diskaprt that comes with the system. The command divides the extended partition and the logical partition. The following describes the detailed operation method

(Because the partition operation is improper, data may be lost. It is recommended that you copy important data to the USB flash drive or mobile hard disk before operation. If there is encryption. Please decrypt the data and back up before performing the operation)

When the primary partition is larger than 4 partitions again, the following error will occur (although the space is sufficient, due to system limitations, the partition table has no primary partition to be divided)

solution:

test system: Window 7

situation before partition as shown in FIG:

there are two The primary partition, one is the system's 100M boot partition, one is the C drive divided when the system is installed, and the remaining 10G space is the extended partition to be divided this time.

Please go back to the desktop, click “start”, enter “cmd”, see the cmd icon of the search results, right click, select “run as administrator", as follows Figure:

The following will open & ldquo; a command prompt & rdquo; window, enter & ldquo; diskpart & rdquo; press enter to open the diskpart disk management tool;

access down, enter & ldquo; list disk & rdquo; enter, view the current condition of the disk, as shown

as shown, 50G of & ldquo; 0 & rdquo ;, disk is disk operations we need to perform, the following input & ldquo; sel disk 0 & rdquo; enter, select the disk, as shown:

Next to the remaining unallocated space provided all extended partition, the input & ldquo; create par extended & rdquo ; Enter. See the following prompt:

see & ldquo; diskpart succeeded in creating the specified partition & rdquo; when prompted, close the window, right-click the desktop & ldquo; Computer & rdquo; icon - Manage - Disk Management to view the current disk status;

disk management, you can see just green has become a 10G partition, extended partition has been created to prove successful, as

Next, right-click Already turned into a green partition, select "New Simple Volume" to complete the partition operation. After this partition, the partition format in the green area becomes "Logical partition", which can be supported in the extended partition. There are countless logical partitions, and no error will be reported during the subsequent partitioning process.

NOTE:

Note 1: diskpart tool system partition NOTE 2: list disk connected to the machine lists all hard NOTE 3: sel disk 0 is selected disk 0 (full name select Disk 0) Note 4: create par extended Create the remaining unpartitioned space as an extended partition (full name create partition extended) Note 5: patition partition
