Microsoft in the IE11 update water injection New tabs but see Windows 10 upgrade promotion

Computer store news: Microsoft is anxious to promote Windows 10 to more devices around the world, and the use of force is quite fierce. If the Microsoft Knowledge Base article on Internet Explorer's latest security patches can be trusted, then the technology giant will try to use novel ways to "stubbornly harass users to upgrade to Windows 10" —— such as the new tab in IE11 Display a "Get Windows 10" style message on it.

InfoWorld pioneered the browser update (KB 3139929) included in the patch Tuesday (March 8):

This security update Fixed multiple escalated IE vulnerabilities. The most serious is that users allow remote code to execute &hellip while browsing a specially crafted web page. In addition, the security update includes several fixes that are not related to IE security.

The main KB page list shows several GDR packages, but the non-security "fix" is KB 3146449. It is described as "Update IE11, Support for Windows 8.1 /Windows 7 Upgrade", but in fact only encourages (advertising Amway) users.

This update adds functionality to IE11 on some computers, allowing users to learn about Windows 10 or start upgrading to Windows 10.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to reproduce this behavior on a Windows 7 computer. However, other media have confirmed this, saying that when you create a new tab, you see a blue bar that says "Microsoft recommends that you upgrade to Windows 10".
