Simply set up asp server in XP

  
        

First, install IIS

1. Put the Windows XP professionalal CD into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Click "Add or Remove Programs" in "Start”→“Control Panel" and click “Add/Remove Windows Components

The second item (Internet Information Service IIS), click "Next", you only need to wait a few minutes, the system can automatically install the IIS component. Click “Complete", the IIS component is loaded into the system.

Second, configure IIS service

1. In the "start" & rdquo; → & ldquo; control panel version & rdquo; found & ldquo; management tools & rdquo;, click & ldquo; management tools & rdquo; , and then select "Internet Information Services"

2. Use the mouse to select "Default Web Site", then right click to find "New & rdquo; → & ldquo; Virtual Directory & rdquo;, when taking an alias Enter any name you want, here we assume that the input is <;web”.

3. Going to the next step is to select “site content directory"" browse” select the location where you want to save the site.

4. The next step is to set access rights. If you don't have special needs, keep the system defaults and go to the next step:

5. Finally click “Complete”. At this point, the virtual directory is set up.

Third, test

In the IE browser address bar, enter “http://localhost/web/index.htm”, if normal, your home page will be displayed. .

Note: Among them, “web” is established in the "virtual directory" when creating "alias"; index.htm is your HTML file; of course, you can also use other files (such as index.asp) instead of index.htm this file. At this point, IIS can serve you on your machine.
