Prime95 usage method

The CPU is one of the most core components of a computer. When the CPU has performance problems, it will cause the entire computer system to run unstable. For example, when watching videos or playing games, there may be some crashes, restarts, blue screens, etc. In addition, for some users who like CPU overclocking, this method can also be used to test the overclocking stable line. The following electric small series introduces a software to test whether the operation of the CPU is stable. Interested friends may wish to learn it.

CPU test software usage:

First, here to test the CPU stable software name called live "Prime95", this is a free color software, you can search through Baidu Download and unzip it to your computer and run it directly. After decompression, enter the software directory and run the “Prime95” executable file directly, as shown in the figure:

Second, when using for the first time, the software will pop up a selection dialog box. We choose "Just Stress Testing" as shown here:

Third, in the test options, we choose the first item, others The settings remain the same. This one is mainly used for floating-point arithmetic testing of the CPU, and it also tests the CPU's cache. After you have made your selection, click the “OK” button as shown in the figure.

4. Then the software will automatically stress test the current computer CPU. My current computer's CPU is quad-core, so I will see "Work #1-4", each Work Area represents a logical CPU core, as shown:

Five, then we can Open the system's task manager, you can see in the performance list that the CPU utilization will be very high, as shown:

Six, in general, the test time is 6 to 24 hours. If the CPU has a hardware performance problem, abnormal conditions may occur within a few minutes, such as crash, reboot, automatic power off, and so on. When we stress test the CPU, the CPU usage has been handling the high load state, which causes the CPU temperature to rise. If the CPU fan does not heat up, it may cause an automatic power failure.

7. If you want to stop the test, click on the menu bar in the upper left corner of the software, “Test -> Stop”, then click the “OK” button to stop all tests, as shown:
