Installation unsuccessful installation in Windows 7

Problem Description:

When installing a service pack for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, you sometimes receive an "Unsuccessful installation" error message.

Problem Cause:
1. There is an inconsistency in the Windows Servicing Store, and the Windows Servicing Store is a required feature to successfully install a Service Pack.

2. A program on the computer (such as an anti-virus or anti-spyware program) interferes with the installation of the service pack

Solution:
Scenario 1 :
1.Download and run the System Update Ready Tool. The System Update Readiness Tool helps resolve issues that might prevent Windows updates and service pack installations.

Scenario 2:
1. Close all programs and restart your computer.
2. After rebooting, shut down all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs that may be running during the boot process. These programs can usually be disabled in the notification area located on the right side of the Windows taskbar.
3. Right-click the program icon and click Close, Disable, Exit, or similar in the list.
4. After closing the anti-virus or anti-spyware program, try to install the service pack again.
5. After installing the service pack, open all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.
