What are the top five features of Win8.1 new upgrades

1. The power button is no longer "hidden".

For users who have previously used Windows 8/8.1, it is often not possible to shut down at first, because the power button cannot be found. In the updated system, a fixed “Power” button is placed in the upper right corner of the “Start” screen, which can be seen at a glance, eliminating a series of unnecessary sliding or clicking operations.

2. The taskbar can display the Windows Store application

Previous versions of Windows completely separated the task list from the desktop and Windows Store (also known as the Modern Application) application, while the Windows 8.1 update All open programs are displayed in the taskbar, regardless of any type. So if the user wants to quickly switch between a Word document on the desktop and an application in the Modern interface, just click on the taskbar. Even better, it is now possible to "spin" the application in the Windows Store in the taskbar.

3.Modern interface has a taskbar

If the user wants to use the new taskbar to display all applications, it can now be implemented anywhere in the Modern interface. Before the update, the taskbar can only be displayed on the desktop; now the Modern interface can be displayed, and the user only needs to move the mouse cursor to the bottom of the display. Unfortunately, Microsoft does not provide an option to keep the taskbar displayed without being automatically hidden.

4. Windows Store app has title bar

In Windows 8 and 8.1, the way to close the Windows Store app is not obvious or not so convenient. If the user is using a keyboard and mouse, either grab it at the top of the screen and take a few seconds to drag the app to the bottom of the screen, or use the ALT+F4 hotkey. In the Windows 8.1 update, all Windows Store apps have a title bar and a complete shutdown and minimize button that allows the app to be terminated or moved to the background with a single click.

5. Default to open media files on the desktop

One of the most troublesome experiences in Windows 8 and 8.1 is when you double-click on a media file such as music, pictures or videos in the resource browser. It will automatically open the full-screen Modern interface application, which is easy to make people feel at a loss. After Windows 8.1 is updated, clicking on the image file will no longer automatically full screen, but will open the desktop Windows Photo Viewer window, and the multimedia file will open the familiar Window Media Player.
