Solving the disk error caused the CPU to occupy 100% of the problem

Many friends have encountered 100% CPU usage, which will cause the system to be slow like a snail. Once, the author is playing the game, the computer suddenly slows down, opens the task manager, and finds that the CPU usage is 100%, and the process of taking up too much CPU is not fixed, and it is passed back and forth between processes like a drum.

My software environment at that time was: Windows XP SP3 system, driving Thunder download, Kingsoft Internet Security full defense, Super Rabbit Internet Wizard, two QQ, Thousands of listening, game "Taige Lizhi Chuan V" .

The troubleshooting steps are as follows:

After the killing, the system is not virus. Next, I disconnected the network and used the ice blade to shut down all non-system necessary processes including Kingsoft Internet Security and explorer.exe. At this point, open the Task Manager and find that the CPU number behind the "System Idle Process" in the Process tab is beating around 90. The CPU is idle at this time. However, the computer is still slow and the CPU usage is still 100%.

Tip: The System Idle Process process occupies high CPU resources. Unclear friends should not worry, the process indicates that the CPU is idle, that is to say, the higher its display, the better.

At the time of the show, I suddenly remembered that the hard disk partition table failed a few months ago to re-partition the system. Although the software test results show that my hard disk is in good health, for an 80GB hard drive, I downloaded and deleted more than 500GB of data for three years. How much people feel uncomfortable about it, so I did the reinstallation system. Last effort...

Since I suspect that it is a hard disk problem, I first tested it with software and concluded that there is no bad track. Then click "Start" → "Run", enter "cmd", press Enter, open a command prompt window. Then it is the scan of the hard disk. Since the program running from the computer failure comes from the C, D, E three partitions, I entered "chkdsk x: /r" (where x represents the drive letter, the author needs to scan Three partitions, so x represents C, D, and E) respectively. In the following, the query option will pop up twice in succession, and select “N” and “Y” (as shown in the figure) to restart the computer.

Tip: For the parameter "/r" after chkdsk, it means repairing errors on the disk and finding incorrect sectors and restoring readable information. At the command prompt, for commands that are not clear to you, you can add the parameter "/?" to the command to view help information about the command.

Then the computer restarts. After the disk scan program finishes scanning the hard disk partition, log in to the system again and find that the system is running again.

Summary: Computer failures are strange, can not always be confused by the appearance, as in the case of this example, it is clear that the CPU usage continues to be high, but the problem is due to disk errors. You can refer to this article when you encounter similar faults in the future.
