Windows 10 Anniversary Update Updates Edge Browser to pause some Flash content

Computer Store News: Flash has become one of the most common elements of web pages over the years, making web content more rich, but at the same time some websites Overwhelming Flash ads have also seriously affected the user experience. Sometimes these Flash ads will automatically play, without a little defense, the strange sound will suddenly scare you, and more "Let the woman scream, let the man crazy", the vulgar picture makes you can't bear to look straight.

Microsoft is still working to improve Edge, and is now ready to improve the performance of Edge when it comes to rendering a website with a lot of Flash content. Microsoft said it will add a new feature to the Edge browser that automatically suspends those sites from being unimportant. Flash content. This update is already included in the recently released Windows 10 Preview Build 14316, and the next Windows 10 Anniversary update will push this feature to all Windows 10 users. Microsoft said:
“ On the Edge browser, peripheral content such as Flash animations or ads will be suspended unless the user explicitly clicks to play the content. This can significantly reduce power consumption and improve performance when rendering web pages in full. However, important Flash content such as videos and games will not be suspended. ”

Microsoft said that more advanced Web programming standards will replace Flash to perform the same tasks, and Microsoft encourages Web programmers to change the habit of using Flash on their websites.
We will then add methods to control the Flash content (including important content of the page) on the webpage and monitor the Flash content on the web. We plan to be on the Edge later, and Flash is no longer part of the default experience.
