Microsoft explains why Win10 blocks pirated games from running: protecting users' safety

Computer Store News: Recently, Win 10 has had some negative situations, one is the privacy access to users, and the other is the confusion caused by Microsoft's EULA, which makes some gamers have concerns about upgrading the new operating system.

Some reports claim that Windows 10 Windows updates can be used to block pirated games. In a statement released today, Microsoft explained that if this happens, it is simply because it may pose a threat to the security of users. A Microsoft spokesperson said:

The Microsoft Service Agreement allows Microsoft to change or stop specific applications or content, which we believe will be risky to your security.

The Microsoft Service Agreement complies with the previous usage agreement and will introduce a unified service agreement on August 1. Software such as piracy poses security risks, including malware infections, scams, personal information exposure, performance or functional failures. We are committed to protecting our customers from the risks of non-original software and protecting the intellectual property of developers.

There is some confusion here. Windows 10 is actually included in the Microsoft Software License Agreement, but this does not mean any updates that might prevent pirated content when installing the operating system. But that doesn't mean that Microsoft won't stop pirated games. This service may be integrated into Windows 10, although the operating system itself will not block pirated content, but the bundled service may be used for this purpose.

There are currently no Win10 users reporting that their pirated games are being "harmonized" by the mechanism, but if you feel that certain games in the system will be potential targets, and you can take advantage of the security of using pirated games. Risk, it is best to control the Windows update installation method in advance to avoid unnecessary troubles caused by automatic update.
