Mac OS X 10.7.3 Exposure Vulnerability: Clear Text Record Password

Computer Shop News No matter what Mac fans accept, Mac OS X is not an impeccable imaginary, it will also suffer from malware. Intrusion, there are also bugs. Recently, a security vulnerability in Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion was exposed, and a system-level debug log file records the user's login password in clear text.

Security researcher David · David Emery exposed the issue last weekend, and some users said they found this phenomenon in Apple's official forum. Fortunately, this problem only occurs when the user is still using the old FileVault encryption feature in the Mac folder after upgrading to the Lion system. FileVault 2 users are not affected by this bug.

Prior to Mac OS X Lion, the Mac system used FileVault to encrypt the user's home folder, while the rest of the system was unencrypted. In Lion, Apple uses the full-disk encryption system FileVault 2. However, the new system is still compatible with FileVault.

If you are installing a new FileVault installation, you will be prompted to install FileVault 2; if you purchase a new machine with a new system preinstalled, it will not be affected by this issue.

You can log in to your account and check the <quo;Security & Privacy& system; properties to determine if you are affected by this vulnerability. If you use FileVault, you will see a reminder message, & ldquo; You are Use the old version of FileVault”. Then disable FileVault and open FileVault 2.
