Why can't I install Windows XP in DOS mode

A: You can't use setup in Windows XP under DOS mode. Command, instead use the cd \\i386 command to first enter the \\i386 subfolder of the system installation CD, then type winnt.exe command and press Enter to run the installer.
It should be noted that sometimes after this operation, the system will prompt that smartdrv is not loaded and the installation is interrupted. You can run the smartdrv.exe file in the DOS system before proceeding.
