How to install Windows 2000

  
after Windows XP

This method can only be applied to FAT32 format hard disk.

Installing Windows 2000

1) Using a Win98\\Me boot disk (supported) CD-ROM drive) Start your computer.

2) Put the Windows 2000 CD in your CD-ROM drive.

3) At the A: prompt, type X:\\I386\\WINNT.EXE where X: is your CD-ROM drive letter.

4) Start installing Windows 2000 to a non-Windows XP installation partition.

5) After the installation is complete, restart your computer in Windows 2000.

Repairing Windows XP Boot Information

Start your computer with your Windows XP CD. When you reach the Setup or Repair step, choose Repair. In the repair console, enter the following:

1) FIXBOOT, answer Yes

2) CD

3) ATTRIB -H NTLDR

4) ATTRIB -S NTLDR

5) ATTRIB -R NTLDR

6) ATTRIB -H NTDETECT.COM

7) ATTRIB -S NTDETECT.COM

8) ATTRIB -R NTDETECT.COM

9) COPY X: I386NTLDR C:

10) COPY X:I386NTDETECT.COM C:

X is the disk of your CD-ROM drive symbol.
