How to recover damaged windows XP system files

Virus seems to always break the winxp system files, the total virus is not the same for the system, once the windows xp system file is damaged, what should we do? Is it reloading or system recovery? These methods are too inefficient. In fact, we can take a simpler and more effective method, which is to repair the files damaged by the virus from the winXP system CD.

Steps to restore winxp system files

1. Search for corrupted files in the winxp installation CD. Here is a trick to search for the last character of the file name underlined“_&rdquo Instead, if you search “Notepad.exe” you need to use “Notepad.ex_” instead.

2. After the file is searched, open winxp's command line mode (Start-Run-CMD), and then enter: “The full path of the EXPAND source file The full path of the target file”. For example: EXPAND D:\\SETUP\\NOTEPAD.EX_ C:\\Windows\\NOTEPAD.EXE. One thing to note is that if there are spaces in the path, you need to include the path in double quotes (quotation marks).

3. If you can't find the file you want on the Windows XP CD, you can look it up in the "CAB" file, because Windows XP treats "CAB" as a folder, so For Windows XP, just drag and drop the "CAB” file right and copy it to the appropriate directory.

4. Other windows platforms operate much the same, you search for the file containing the target file name "CAB". Open the command line mode and enter: <;EXTRACT /L target location The full path of the CAB file ", for example: EXTRACT /L C:\\Windows D:\\I386\\Driver.cab Notepad.exe. As before, as if there are spaces in the path, you need to enclose the path in double quotes.
