Use BitComet's six practical skills

1. Carry the boss BT download

If you often need to download some content with BT, and do not want to be known by the boss, then click Alt+~ to hide /The window that is displayed. Unfortunately, we can't modify this button.

2. Auto-shutdown after completion

Using BT download is a time-consuming task, ranging from a few minutes to a few hours. I don’t want to sit for a few hours in order to wait for the shutdown. In fact, we can completely shut down the download after it is finished: select “Options→Options” or press Ctrl+P and click in the window that opens. In the "Task Settings" item, select "Turn off the computer when all tasks are automatically stopped" under "Task download completed" (Figure 1). In this way, we can only open the machine and carry out BT downloads. After the download is completed, the computer will automatically be used, and the download speed will be faster at night.

In addition, FlashGet and NetAnts provide the function of shutting down after downloading: after adding all download and download objects to the download list in FlashGet, check the "Tools → Shutdown after completion" checkbox. . Then right click on any of the download objects and select the "Start All" command. FlashGet will download the software or data we added earlier and automatically shut down the computer after the download is complete. In NetAnts, check the "Options → Auto Shutdown" checkbox to get the same effect.

3. Don't affect downloading because of standby.

Many people set up idle time to automatically standby in order to save power. At this time, we should choose "Options→Options", then Click the "Appearance" item in the window that opens, and then select "Protect the system from entering standby/hibernation when the task is running" under "BitComet Runtime" (Figure 2). In this way, when we have BT task download, the system will not enter standby /hibernation state, so that our tasks can be executed normally.

4. Change the warehouse to a big place

The use of BT downloads is often larger, and BTComet will download the files in the C:\\Program Files\\BitComet\\Downloads folder by default. Under normal circumstances, Windows will be installed on the C drive, but because the system will continue to increase the disk space occupied by itself, if you add a lot of space occupied by the software that is continuously downloaded, it is easy to cause insufficient space on the C drive, causing insufficient disk space on the system. And unstable, in addition, Windows is not stable, but also to format the C drive reinstallation system, so it will cause unnecessary loss of download software, so it is recommended to change the default download directory of BTComet.

Select "Options→Options", click the "Task Settings" item, and then click the ... button next to "Default Download Directory" under "Download Management" to modify the default download directory to other Partition, for example: F:\\software (Figure 3).

Unfortunately, BTComet can't create more sub-folders and classify them like FlashGet.

5. Don't let BT become a system resource murderer

Is it a slow system like snail after running BT, causing other programs to work? Especially on some old computers. . In fact, we can set BTComet so that it does not become a system resource killer: select "Options→Options", click the "Network Connection" item, and then set the maximum download and upload rate on the right (Figure 4) ). It should be noted that here is kB/s, not the kb/s promoted by the broadband provider, 1kB/s=8kb/s. Therefore, if you are the fastest 512kb/s ADSL connection, you can only set it to 64kB/s.

6. Large file batch download

General BT download files are large, so we often want to set all the seed files, and then download them in batches. We just double-click on the .torrent file and select "Manual Start" to the right of "Tasks" in the open window (Figure 5). After all the seed files have been added, select them in the main interface, right-click and select “Start” (as shown in Figure 6) to start the download. With the above tips, you can turn off the download after downloading.
