Ghost creates an internal error solution

Norton Ghost is an excellent hard drive "Clone" tool that gives you the most powerful protection of your hard drive data in the shortest amount of time. I am using Ghost to backup and restore my system disk data, which brings me great convenience. However, recently, when I used Ghost 8.0 to recover system disk data, there was a problem.

First, the fault phenomenon

My operating system is Windows 2003 Server, the hard disk has four partitions C, D, E, F, of which, except for the E disk is the FAT32 partition, the rest Both are NTFS partitions. After installing the operating system and various application software, I used Ghost8.0's "Partition to Mirror" command to make an image file win2003sys.gho on the system partition C disk, and save the image file directly on the E disk ( FAT32 format). Later, because I temporarily need to use the E disk, I copied the image file to the D disk (NTFS format) and deleted the image file on the E disk. Recently, I want to restore the system with the image file, so I re-copy the image file on the D disk (NTFS format) to the E disk (FAT32 format), and then use the CD to boot the system into the DOS command prompt interface, run Ghost8.0, select the image file on the E disk for "mirror to partition" recovery, do not want, when the system is restored to about 80%, Ghost8.0 has an internal error message with error number 8027: An internal inconsistency has Been detected..If this problem persists, contact Symantec Technical Support at http://service.symantec.com, meaning: An internal inconsistency error has been detected. If this problem persists, please contact the Symantec Technical Support Center. . Try to restore it twice, every time around 80%, this error message will appear.

Second, the solution

I have used Ghost for more than six years, from Ghost3.0 to Ghost8.0, I have never encountered any problems, so my stability to Ghost And security has been convinced that this time I encountered such a mistake, I did not doubt that it is a problem with Ghost 8.0, it must be a problem in other aspects. I suddenly thought that Ghost8.0 supports NTFS format partitions. Will it be a partition problem? Why don't I try to restore the image file on the D drive (NTFS format)? A try, and sure enough, no error prompts, smooth recovery system.

Third, failure analysis

The above error occurs, I think mainly because the security of the FAT32 format partition is not as high as the NTFS format partition, when the image file is copied back to the E disk (FAT32 When the format is copied, the image file is copied incorrectly, so that an error message that the recovery is unsuccessful occurs. Therefore, when you use the Ghost tool to "clone" the hard disk, it is recommended to use Ghost8.0 or later. Because this version supports NTFS format partitioning, you can directly copy the image file to the NTFS format partition. When you need to restore the system, Use a floppy disk or CD-ROM boot system with Ghost 8.0 tools to perform system recovery.
