Microsoft Surface Pro Review

Computer Shop News:

Everyone has been waiting for Microsoft Surface Pro for a long time. Yesterday, the famous foreign technology media Verge and Engadget also gave the evaluation at the same time. We compiled the most valuable information to see if it was disappointing or disappointing:

The earlier Surface RT proved that Microsoft can make beautiful and high quality tablets. But unfortunately, the poor performance of the Surface RT in terms of performance and functionality overshadowed the excellent design. Therefore, the full-featured tablet Surface Pro with X86 architecture is the embodiment of Microsoft's hardware and software. Briefly summarized: Surface Pro runs the same system as a notebook, has the same performance and applications, and has the portability of a tablet.

1. Ventilation strips do not affect the appearance

At first glance, the appearance of Surface Pro is not much different from the appearance of Surface RT. The lines are very simple and the body is made of magnesium. The alloy is melt-processed and made of “VaporMg” material, which is smooth and delicate. The biggest difference between the two is that there is a small gap in the edge of the Surface Pro for heat dissipation, also known as ventilation strips. This does not seem ugly, but undoubtedly increased the thickness of the fuselage, reaching 13.46mm (Surface RT is 9.39mm), the weight is about 226.8g, almost 25% more than Surface RT.

2. Configuration of the mainstream ultrabook

Surface Pro built a 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-3317U low voltage processor, Intel HD Graphics 4000 core graphics 4GB of memory, the same as the mainstream ultrabook, and can not be personalized. SSD SSDs are available in 64GB and 128GB versions, but the actual usable storage space for the 64GB version is only 23GB, and the 128GB version is 83GB. Both media recommend buying the latter. Even so, Surface Pro users are better off working with external storage devices.
