Ghost minimizes two misunderstandings of clone

Misleading one: delete the page file Hiberfil in the root directory of the C drive. Sys

One way is to teach the reader to open "Control Panel → Power Options → Hibernate" step by step, uncheck "Enable Power"; another method is more powerful - find Deltree in DOS 6.22. The exe command file is copied to the root directory of the system disk, and then the computer is booted to pure DOS by various means. The Deltree Hiberfil.sys command is executed to delete it - because Hiberfil.sys cannot be deleted under Windows!

Misleading 2: Move virtual memory or delete Pagefile. The sys file

also has two misleading methods: one is to move the virtual memory to other partitions; the other is the same as above, boot to pure DOS and delete it through Deltree.

In fact, the above two files are large (by default, Hiberfil.sys is usually 255MB, Pagefile.sys is usually 384MB), but Ghost does not copy them when cloning with Ghost software. Inside the .gho file--I have used the Ghost 6.0/7.0/8.0 and other versions to repeatedly compare and clone multiple times. No matter whether the system disk has these two files, the final result of the clone is 433351KB (423MB). At the same time, use the ghost detector (GhostEXP.exe) to open the .gho file, there is no Hiberfil.sys and Pagefile.sys! That being the case, why bother to do so!

So, what is the recommended measure to minimize the number of system disks to be cloned?

1. Clear the file cache through Sfc.exe /purgecache, this is the most effective trick to reduce the system by about 370MB;

2. Search through the system disk to find out All .cab, .zip archives, remove or delete (can reduce about 85MB);

3. Through Cleannmgr (the disk cleaning tool in the attachment) and the temporary files for .tmp, $ Search for other temporary files;

4. For help files, font files, desktop wallpaper files, etc., you can remove or delete them;

5. For the system self-proclaimed components installed for you , such as MSN, OE, games in the attachment, etc., can be uninstalled by "Add /Remove Programs";

6. A very important habit: install all programs in another partition, Reduce the size of the system partition;

7. Delete the record and backup for system restore in the root directory of the system disk - for XP system, even if the system is just installed, it may be in System Volume Information There are dozens or even hundreds of MB backup files in the directory (click "Tools → Folder Options → View", uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System Files" to see). This step is usually done at the end and before the clone, so that it can be completely emptied, because as long as your system restore function is not closed, all the changes you have made under the supervision will be recorded in C: System Volume Information! Of course, deleted them, all the changes made before this can not be restored!
