Easy to get a pure DOS capture

Nowadays, the screenshot software can only run under Windows, but sometimes we need to perform screen capture under pure DOS
(Note: not DOS
mode in Windows) Take the job. Experts can naturally solve this problem by installing a virtual machine, but it is very troublesome for a rookie like the author. What should I do? The following three types of gadgets commonly used by the author are recommended to help you complete the screenshot task under pure DOS
. A

, Graffix, calmly DOS
capture

Graffix complete with two main steps generally be divided into shots operations: first screen capture of ATF Format, then use the included conversion tool to convert the ATF format to GIF or PCX image format.

1. Get the ATF file

1 After entering the pure DOS
, enter "DGFX" after the command line and press Enter. A usage prompt (Figure 1) will appear, you can see the grab hotkey. Is "C trl + ALT + space bar". Figure 1

Tip: The command to uninstall this program from memory is “DGFX/U”.

② need to capture the program run, after to be arrested screen, press the hot key, the screen pop-up prompts (Figure 2), enter the file name of the picture you can press the F1 key to grab A TF format, If you press the Enter key directly, you get the TXT text format.

Tip: If the program screen to be captured is itself in graphics mode, the file in GIF or PCX image format will be directly obtained, so that the conversion step can be omitted.

2. Converting ATF to GIF/PCX Image Format

ATF formatted images cannot be recognized by Windows applications, so we need to convert the previously captured ATF format to GIF or PCX format.

1 Enter “A2B” at the DOS
prompt, press Enter, enter the ATF file name, and the contents of the ATF file will be displayed on the screen.

2 Press the hotkey "CTRL+ALT+space" again, and the prompt "SAVE IN WHICH FORMAT, GIFORPCX(G/P)" will appear (ask you to save the file as GIF or PCX format). If the letter G is pressed at this time, the ATF will be converted to the GIF format by the following steps; if the letter "P" is pressed, the PCX format can be obtained.

3 Enter the main file name of the file you want to get and press Enter. Now go to the software directory and see if you get the GIF or PCX image files you need?

Tip: For unregistered Graffix software, there will be a software copyright name mark at the top of the captured image, which can be removed in the image processing software.

mentioned above Graffix software to crawl the ATF format conversion to go through to get common image formats, do a little trouble. Moreover, it does not support the Chinese system of some DOS
, and the captured Chinese characters will not be displayed correctly. Therefore, the more direct method is to create a standard image format directly after capturing the image. In this regard, I use PI X E L PO P and D O S Capture.

two, PIXELPOP, crawl GIF format is more simple

PIXELPOP can directly DOS
screen capture to GIF image format, and crawled into the picture is not copyright Text, you can use it directly in other places without having to deal with it.

First enter the software directory at the DOS
prompt, run the batch file "PP.BAT", the screen displays the information about the capture hotkey and image save location (default will be Generate a GIF file at the beginning of SCREEN in the software installation directory. Each time you press the hotkey, one will be generated, and the serial number will be incremented from 0 0, such as SCREEN00.GIF, SCREEN01. GIF, etc. (Fig. 3).

three, DOS
CAP, direct grab for the PCX format

you need to DOS < Br> Screen capture is PCX format and you don't want to convert it. Try DOS
Capture software.

The author's experience, use DOS
Capture this software When it is best to copy several files of this software to the boot floppy disk, use the floppy disk to boot the system into the D OS environment, and in the soft Run the main program "DOS
CAP.EXE" on the disk.

Tip: If you use it directly on the hard disk, there may be cases where the file cannot be saved correctly (such as the author) It is placed in the D disk of FAT32 format, and always prompts that it cannot be written when saving.

Since the software is not registered, the relevant information will be displayed on the screen and some letter button prompts will appear randomly, and the corresponding letters will pop up. The hotkey of the software capture diagram shows that the hotkey is “ALT+.” (Fig. 4).
Fig. 4

After the screen to be captured appears, press the hotkey quickly, along with the buzzer As soon as the sound is heard, the corresponding picture is saved to the disk. If there is no PCX image file that has been captured in the save position, the generated file name is cap0001.pcx (the number will be automatically incremented when the picture is continued). >
Tip: The command to uninstall DOSC apture from memory is “DOScap unload”.

The PCX image captured by DOS
Capture can be used for other occasions, but it Cannot be recognized by most Windows programs, In the present, many viewing software (such as IrfanVIEw) supports this format, so it can be easily converted into common image formats (such as BM, JG, GIF, etc.) under Windows.

Being pure < U>DOS
Friends who are worried about the screenshots, try the above three softwares!
