The solution for the HD sound card driver can not be installed

I believe many users can encounter such problems when installing the XP system on the computer. The system can be installed very quickly, but there is a problem in installing the sound card driver. The sound card driver cannot be installed normally. In the "Device Manager", there is such a "High Definition Audio Bus Audio Device" on the yellow Exclamation point. Go to the control panel to test the sound, the gray option, the driver is not installed.

The reason for the above problem is that the motherboard uses the latest High Definition Audio technology, so Microsoft's Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) high-definition audio driver is required. To install the corresponding sound card driver, you must first install "Microsoft UAA". If the driver for the sound card is installed directly (the uaa environment is not installed), the sound card will not work properly. The solution to this problem is to download two Microsoft patch packages, namely KB835221 & KB888111, two HD AUDIO Microsoft patches. The installation sequence is: first install KB835221, then install KB888111, and finally install the sound card driver.

In addition, the latest XP SP3 has integrated this part of the driver, and updating the system to SP3 can usually solve this problem. In addition, the motherboard manufacturer will also update the driver of the motherboard sound card, integrate the patch, and users can download the latest version of the driver to try. Alternatively, from the "Audio Device on the High Definition Audio Bus" right click "Update Driver" - "Install from a list or specified location" - "Do not search, I have to choose the driver to install" - "Sound, Video and Game Controller" - Specify the driver location (the folder where the sound card driver is located) - Make sure the installation can also solve this problem
