Windows XP lost restore point ultimate solution

The system restore point created by the author before installing the game disappeared, and only one system checkpoint was replaced. How to restore the original set restore point?

Start "Control Panel→Administrative Tools→Event Viewer", select "System" in the event viewer, find the information file of the lost restore point, view the attribute See: System Restore Service is suspended.

Because there is not enough disk space on drive C:\\, System Restore will automatically resume service once there is at least 200MB of free disk space on the system drive.

Understand the reason for the loss of the restore point, and then it should be restored. The first step is to find the System Volume Information folder in the root directory of the system. Chinese can be translated into "system volume information". This folder stores the backup information of the system restore.

The second step is to back up the System Volume Information. The easiest way is to copy a copy directly, but considering the maintainability of the backup file, you should use the necessary compression.

In the third step, if the system uses NTFS partition, we will get a warning if we click the System Volume Information folder directly. Because the System Volume Information folder is only accessible to the system by default, even if you are logged in as a member of the Administrators group.

Then click on the System Volume Information folder and select WinZIP or WinRAR to compress it.

After the compression is complete, copy the compressed file to a safe place. After that, whether it is because the disk space is not enough to use the system to turn off the system restore function or we manually turn off the system restore function, as long as we re-open the system restore function, then manually delete all the folders and files in the System Volume Information folder (re-open The system restore function is the system's own restore point file), then extract the backup compressed file to the System Volume Information folder, and then start the system restore.
