Use Ghost to erase bad sectors of hard disk

Last month, I routinely gave a "physical examination" to the nephew's machine. I found that the bad sectors in the E area were 8192 bytes. I immediately ran the Win98 disk scanner and could not repair it. Then I ran the NDD disk repair tool. I remember that I have read the article about the bad logic hard disk repair logic before, then format it first.

Immediately enter the advanced format E area under DOS, and then enter Win98 to see it. As a result, I almost squatted on the chair: not only did the bad sector not be eliminated, but the madness increased by more than 3M. How is this good? After running for a few days, the hard disk has no abnormal sound, no read/write error, and the bad sector size has not changed.

Although the operation is normal, but there is always unwillingness in the heart, is it necessary to make the last move of the low-level hard disk? No, the low grid has some damage to the hard disk, and it takes a long time for the hard disk of dozens of G to be low. It seems that it is not necessary to take this step. Continue to check the data, found that the wipe tool in the Norton uitility toolbox can erase the logical bad sectors without deleting the original data of the hard disk.

Looking for it, and remembering that ghost also erases the data on the target disk and then overwrites the image file. Since they are all erased, will they have the same effect? Anyway, the F area is loaded with ghost, which has a backup of the c area. Run ghost directly under Windows and choose to restore to E.

After a while, the restore is successful, and then the E area is scanned. The result is overjoyed: the bad sectors are 0 bytes in total! Great! Then quickly format the E area, still reporting bad sectors as 0 bytes. At this point, it is confirmed that the logical bad sectors in the E area have been completely repaired, and it feels great!
